Many companies and users always have questions about refrigerated dryers and adsorption dryers on post-processing equipment when purchasing air compressor units, and do not know which dryers their companies are suitable for. This time we will analyze how to choose between the freezing and adsorption dryers.

The refrigerated dryer is a device used to remove 99% of the water in the compressed air in the air compressor system. It is common in industries with stricter gas usage such as electronics, spray paint, and plastics. However, for some industries that use rigorous air, such as pharmaceutical factories, etc., sometimes refrigerated dryers alone cannot guarantee the quality of compressed air, and we will configure adsorption dryers. So how to judge whether an adsorption dryer is needed? Can the adsorption dryer be used alone? What is the difference between adsorption dryer and refrigerated dryer?

The effective air supply volume of the refrigerated dryer can reach 100%. However, due to the restriction of the working principle, the air supply dew point of the refrigerated dryer can only reach about 3℃ (pressure dew point), and it is affected by the temperature of the intake air. The impact is great. Every time the intake air temperature increases by 5°C, the cooling efficiency will drop by 30%, and the supply air dew point will increase significantly. At the same time, the refrigerated dryer must consume a certain amount of electricity and cooling water.

The dew point of the adsorption dryer is minus 60°C to 70°C, and the alumina molecular sieve in the adsorption dryer can be used to absorb water vapor to a greater extent. Under normal circumstances, it is not recommended to use the adsorption dryer alone. When the adsorption dryer is used alone, the work load of the dryer equipment will be greater, which will affect the life of the dryer. Adsorption dryers are generally used in food, beverage, pharmaceutical and other industries.
