For an air compressor, the intercooler of an air compressor has the image of the lungs of the compressor. Its cooling effect and reliability directly affect the aerodynamic performance and overall efficiency of the compressor.

The intercooler covers almost all the structural types of shell-and-tube heat exchangers, reflecting its design concept of integrating the advantages of various types of heat exchangers. At the same time, due to the compressor's strict requirements on the allowable pressure loss and inlet temperature between each section, the particularity of the design and selection of the intercooler is also determined.

During the operation of the air compressor, in order to reduce the power consumption of the compressor and ensure the reliable operation of the compressor, intercoolers are installed between all levels. In the intercooler, the gas is cooled by cooling water by means of convection heat exchange. If the intercooler leaks, the gas channel communicates with the cooling water channel, and the direction of the leakage depends on the pressure of the gas and the cooling water.

With the increase of intercoolers for air compressors, a series of coolers suitable for various working conditions and different models has naturally formed. But the air compressor intercooler often leaks, what causes it?

For the intercooler after the first stage, the cooling water pressure is usually higher than the gas pressure. Therefore, if the first-stage intercooler leaks, the cooling water will enter the gas side, and the gas will entrain water, which will significantly increase the amount of water blown off by the first-stage oil-water separator. Based on the above phenomena, the judgment of the intercooler leakage can be made. When the displacement of the air compressor system decreases, the pressure of the air compressor system begins to increase, and the controller receives the signal of the increase in pressure, and then begins to gradually reduce the opening of the intake valve. At this time, the displacement of the screw compressor The reduction also coincides with the reduction, of course, the current of the motor is also reduced. When the air consumption of the system increases, the system pressure begins to decrease, and the controller receives the signal of the decrease in pressure, and gradually increases the opening of the intake valve. At this time, the air displacement of the screw compressor is also increased to the full output.

If the system air consumption continues to decrease and the system pressure rises to the lower limit of the empty vehicle pressure setting, the controller will fully close the intake valve. At this time, the air compressor starts to run empty and reaches the set empty running delay. After time, the motor stops running, and the air compressor can automatically stop. When the pressure and displacement change, the electronic control part starts the motor (start without load), and the air compressor can automatically start. Realize 24-hour unmanned duty, and at the same time, the company will save a lot of energy and reduce production costs for the company.
