The first load operation of the air compressor is carried out after empty operation and purge. The air compressor must operate under load according to the following requirements:

1. Gradually close the vent valve or the oil-water purge valve after driving, and run it for 1 hour at 1/4 of the rated pressure of the air compressor; run it for 4-8 hours at 1/2 of the rated pressure;

2. The air compressor is operated under normal pressure, and the pressure must be gradually increased after there is no abnormal phenomenon;

3. For large high-pressure air compressors, the operating time under nominal pressure shall not be less than 24 hours;

4. During operation, check the following items:
   (1) Pressure, temperature and supply of lubricating oil. The oil pressure shall not be lower than 1 kg/cm 2 before being fed into the distribution pipeline. The lubricating oil moisture in the crankcase or the fuselage should be: the air compressor with crosshead should not exceed 60°C. Without crosshead, the temperature shall not exceed 70°C.
   (2) The air compressor runs smoothly, and the sound of all moving parts should be normal.
   (3) Measure the inlet and outlet water temperature and check the supply of cooling water. The cooling water is not allowed to flow intermittently, bubbles and blockages. The cooling water drain temperature shall not exceed 40°C.
   (4) The connecting flanges, shaft seals, intake and exhaust valves, cylinder heads and water jackets of the National Bureau of Surveying and Mapping shall not leak air, oil or water.
   (5) The inlet and exhaust valves should work normally, and the safety valves should be sensitive.
   (6) There must be no looseness in each connection part.
   (7) The exhaust gas temperature and pressure values measured at all levels should meet the requirements of various technical conditions.
   (8) The heating condition and current value of the motor should meet the requirements.

5. After the operation is completed, disassemble and inspect the following items:
   (1) Disassemble each level of air valve and front cover of each level of cylinder, check the cylinder mirror friction, if there are friction marks, find out the cause.
   (2) Check the friction on the surface of the piston rod, and there should be no wear marks and pull tracks.
   (3) Disassemble all levels of air valves and check the fit between the valve discs and the valve body. If the valve discs are cracked, replace them with spare parts.
   (4) Check the friction between the cross slide and the friction surface of the guide rail of the fuselage.
   (5) Disassemble the connecting rod large-end bush and cross-head pin, and check the friction of the friction surface.

 6. Replace the lubricating oil in the fuselage. After the air compressor is operated for the first time; due to the running-in of various parts and the cleaning effect of the lubricating oil, a large amount of fine metal powder enters the lubricating oil. Therefore, all the lubricating oil should be replaced after the machine has been working for 24 hours. After 200 hours of operation, change the oil again. After changing twice, change the oil according to the regular maintenance requirements. In order to make the running-in uniform, there must be sufficient lubricating oil everywhere during the first operation.
