The general-purpose air compressor is in accordance with national standards, with an exhaust pressure of 0.7 MPa. If it is higher or lower than this pressure, it is a non-standard special air compressor.

The basic criteria for selecting an air compressor are economy, reliability and safety.

First, the level of exhaust pressure and the amount of exhaust gas should be considered. The exhaust pressure of the general-purpose aerodynamic compressor is 0.7 MPa, and the old standard is 0.8 MPa. At present, there is an air compressor with an exhaust pressure of 0.5 MPa in the society, which is unreasonable from the perspective of use, because the pressure margin of the pneumatic tool is too small, and the gas transmission distance can not be used a little farther.

In addition, from a design point of view, this compressor is designed for one-stage compression, the pressure ratio is too large, it is easy to cause the exhaust temperature to be too high, causing carbon deposits in the cylinder, resulting in accidents. If the compressor used by the user is greater than 0.8MPa, it must be specially manufactured, and the method of forced pressure increase cannot be adopted to avoid accidents.

The air displacement is one of the main parameters of the air compressor. The air volume of the selected air compressor should match the required air displacement and leave a 10% margin. If the amount of air used is large and the air compressor has a small amount of exhaust, the air pressure of the air compressor will be greatly reduced when the air tool is started, and the air tool cannot be driven. Of course, it is also wrong to blindly pursue a large displacement, because the larger the displacement, the larger the motor equipped with the compressor. Not only is the price high, but also the purchase funds are wasted, and the power energy is also wasted when used.

In addition, when selecting the exhaust volume, it is necessary to consider the peak usage, the usual usage and the valley usage. If the trough consumption is large, and the usual consumption and peak consumption are not large, the common method abroad is to obtain a larger displacement by connecting air compressors with a smaller displacement in parallel, and start them one by one as the gas consumption increases. Not only is it good for the grid, but it can also save energy.

The second is to consider the occasion and conditions of gas consumption. If the gas field is narrow (for marine and vehicle), the vertical type should be selected; if there is a long-distance change (more than 500 meters) in the gas field, the mobile type should be considered; if the power supply cannot be used, the diesel engine-driven type should be selected ; If there is no running water in the occasion, you must choose the air-cooled type.

In the two cooling methods of air cooling and water cooling, users often have the wrong understanding that water cooling is good, but it is not. The air-cooled type of small compressors at home and abroad accounts for more than 90%. This is because the design is simple and air-cooled, and no water source is needed for use.

There are four fatal shortcomings of water-cooled compressors:

Must have a complete water supply and drainage system, large investment;

Water-cooled cooler has a short life span;

It is also easy to freeze the cylinder in winter in the north;

In normal operation, a lot of water will be wasted.

The third is to consider the quality of compressed air. Generally, the compressed air produced by an air compressor contains a certain amount of lubricating oil and a certain amount of water. In some occasions, oil and water are prohibited. At this time, not only should pay attention to the selection of the compressor, but also add auxiliary devices when necessary.

Solution: First, choose a non-lubricating compressor. The compressor cylinder is basically free of oil, and its piston ring and packing are generally polytetrafluoroethylene. But this machine also has shortcomings, poor lubrication, and high failure rate; PTFE is also a harmful substance that cannot be used in the food and pharmaceutical industries; non-lubricated compressors can only deliver gas without oil, and cannot contain water.

The second and common method is to add one or two purification devices or dryers to the air compressor (whichever is the case). This device can make the compressor air neither oil nor water, so that the oily water content in the compressed air is below 5ppm, which can meet the process requirements.

The fourth is to consider the safety of compressor operation. Air compressor is a kind of machine with pressure work, which is accompanied by temperature rise and pressure during work, and the safety of its operation should be given top priority. The state implements a standardized "two certificates" system for the production of compressors, namely compressor production licenses and pressure vessel production licenses (gas storage tanks). Therefore, when purchasing compressor products, we must strictly review the "two certificates." Usually the product quality assurance system of certified manufacturers is perfect, there will be no major quality problems, even if some problems occur, the manufacturer will be responsible for three guarantees.
